Fans of Colleen Hoover’s book It Ends With Us have been eagerly awaiting the film adaptation starring Blake Lively.
The movie was supposed to hit our screens in February, but has been pushed back to the summer, most likely due to SAGAFTRA strikes.
However, some reckon filming might have been delayed because of a largely negative response from fans when the behind the scenes pictures were released.
Many were unhappy with the fact that Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni (both in their thirties) were playing main characters Lily and Ryle, when they’re meant to be early twenties in the books.

There were also concerns raised about the styling; fans didn’t like the clothing choices which they felt looked “millennial” and overly eccentric, and Blake’s red wig didn’t go down well either.
Justin Baldoni, who is also directing the film, has said that he’s taking what fans say seriously, and trying to take all feedback on board.
“Don’t worry I see EVERYTHING you all tag me in,” he captioned a TikTok video that showed him furiously typing, “trying to keep up with all the It Ends With Us casting, scene and song requests.”
So, when exactly will we get to watch it, and what’s it all about?
Here’s everything you need to know!
What’s it about?

The book follows young woman Lily Bloom, who lives to Boston after University and opens a florist.
There, she meets handsome neuroscientist Ryle Kincaid, who sweeps her off her feet. Everything seems perfect, until Ryle begins to change.
Things are further complicated when Lily’s first love Atlas Corrigan appears after years of not seeing one another.
We can imagine the film will follow the book, with themes of domestic violence, female friendships and blossoming romances.
Who’s in it?

So far, the four main characters have been cast.
We have Blake Lively as Lily Bloom, and Justin Baldoni as Ryle Kincaid (you may remember him from Jane The Virgin).
Playing Atlas is Brandon Skelnar, who has acted in a number of films including Emily The Criminal and Temple.
Finally, we have Jenny Slate as Alyssa Kincaid, Ryle’s sister who befriends Lily.
Jenny’s a comedian and actress who you’ll probably recognise from HBO’s Girls, Parks and Recreation, or Everything, Everywhere, All At Once.
When will it be released?
The new official release date has been announced as June 21st, according to People.
So Lily will be in full bloom by the summer! (Sorry).
