So We’re Getting A The Summer I Turned Pretty Film…
It's official
There’s a The Summer I Turned Pretty film coming – yes, really.
Just when we thought it was safe to go back on Amazon Prime, Jenny Han has announced that there will be a feature length film to wrap up Belly’s story.
The series’ third season wrapped up this week, leading fans to believe that the entire story would end with the season finale.
However, at a special finale event in Paris, it was revealed that The Summer I Turned Pretty was not yet over. And that a film was coming.
“There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due,” Jenny said in a statement.

“Iโm so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”
In case you are unaware, The Summer I Turned Pretty is a coming of age story about Belly (real name, Isabelle), a girl who must decide between her first love and her first heartbreak.
The series has been wildly popular since first dropping on Prime, instigating a considerable divide between the Team Conrad and Team Jeremiah camps.

So, what will the film be about? Well, we don’t know quite yet, but we do know that Lola Tung (Belly) and Christopher Briney (Conrad) will be returning.
The film will be written by Han, who wrote the YA books the show is based on and developed it for TV, alongside Sarah Kucserka.
“The Summer I Turned Pretty has struck a chord with audiences everywhere, creating moments of joy, nostalgia, and connection that have made it a global sensation,” said Courtenay Valenti of Amazon MGM Studios and Vernon Sanders of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios.
“We’re proud of the series’ extraordinary success and couldn’t be more excited to partner again with Jenny Han to bring fans an unforgettable next chapter.”
