Jessie Buckley is set to take the lead this award season after picking up her first Golden Globe award at the most recent ceremony.

The actress and singer took home the award on the night for her performance in one of the most anticipated films of the year, Hamnet, where she stars alongside Irish actor Paul Mescal.

But with her work life glimmering in the spotlight, her private life is being kept very private, leaving fans wondering who she is sharing this wonderful success with.

Many might be surprised to know that Jessie is married and recently welcomed a little baby into her family. If you want to know more about this private relationship, we have all the info on who this mystery man is and how the pair are adjusting to parenthood together…

While we might not know much, we do know that his name is Freddie, after she spoke about him on the podcast Table Manners, back in 2024.

She revealed his name, and the news that she is in fact married, in a very casual way while speaking about her death row meal that Freddie makes: “One of my favourite ever dishes is anchovy pasta… Freddie makes it. I’m rubbish at making it and Freddie… my husband got it from a New York Times recipe”.

In the same podcast interview, Jessie went on to say that the pair met on a blind date that was set up by music producer Marc Robinson – it’s not every day you can say that! She spoke of how she was working with Robinson while filming Wild Rose, and he convinced her to go on this blind date, and well, the rest is history!

When speaking on the Table Manners podcast, she gave us a little insight into their wedding, which took place at their home in Norfolk. They had bought a home there a few years previously after friends of theirs showed them the area. While they originally wanted to buy a home in Suffolk, because that’s where Jessie said they fell in love, they couldn’t pass up the offer to move into this 1500 century country home.

Their wedding seemed to be a very intimate affair, with the catering done by Towpath, a cafe in Dalston, which Jessie and Freddie both love and reminds them of when they first started dating. Jessie had the idea of getting a Guinness keg for the reception and knew she would want a Towpath toasty in the later hours of the night, so asked if the owners would be up for hosting!

Jessie also revealed that her husband is, in fact, English, and from Islington in London. She joked with the hosts of Table Manners, Jessie and Lennie Ware, that any time she would bring an English boyfriend back home to meet her granny, she would just call them Seamus, but when Freddie came along he was just Freddie, so she knew he was a keeper!

Another detail we know about Freddie is that he works in mental health, and is heading back to university to study it, which Jessie also revealed on the podcast. But that is as far as we know, after she declined to give any other personal information about him during a British Vogue interview saying that with his line of work “anonymity is crucial”.

After recently giving birth to their first child in late 2025, Jessie opened up to the New York Times podcast, Modern Love, on how she and Freddie are finding parenthood.

“Everyone’s doing great, everything is different, everything is new. This little human is new, and your relationship is even new. It is intense, but I love – I love it so much!

We wish them both the best of luck in this new chapter in their lives and are excited to see what’s next in store for Jessie!
