5 Fat-Burning Foods That Are Amazing For Weight Loss
It's been a weekend of indulgence. Scoff these foods to torch calories and get back on track...
Whole grains
Your bod burns twice as many calories breaking down whole grains like wheat, brown rice and oats as it does when you scoff refined grains like white bread, white rice and pasta. Your morning fix? Opt for a bowl of oatmeal or even yummier, blueberry and oatmeal pancakes to give your metabolism a boost first thing. Bonus point: they’ll also keep your blood sugar levels steady throughout the day.
Nuts
If weight loss is your goal you can, er, go nuts with nuts. Thanks to their mix of fatty acids, protein and fiber, they help to boost your metabolism, curb your appetite and reduce cravings. Just skip the salty and sugary toppings, yeah?
Coffee
Now there’s another reason to drink your morning brew. Studies have shown that caffeine can increase your metabolic rate by up to 11%. But here’s the kicker: drinking too much of it can actually increase the body’s stress hormones and cause extra snacking and fat storage, so it’s best to stick to one to two cups a day.
Peppers
We’re talking hot peppers, the spicier the better. That’s because capiscum, found in chilli peppers heats up your body and in turn spikes your metabolism. Add them to your meals throughout the day if you need a little extra fat-burning kick. We love a Chilli Con Carne with extra heat or a tortizza with a fiery tomato base.
Peanut Butter
Good news for PB lovers everywhere, your fave-o nutty spread, isn’t just super tasty, it also blasts belly fat. Why? It’s because it’s loaded with healthy mono-unsaturated fat, which gives your body extra energy to burn off bad fats and extra calories. We’ll be making these yummy PB recipes ASAP.
