Bake Off BFFs Selasi And Benjamina Just Had The Sweetest Twitter Exchange

There are just two episodes to go in this series of The Great British Bake Off, and given the show’s impending move to Channel 4 without Mary, Sue and Mel, everything’s just a touch more bittersweet this time around.

Last night, five bakers became four as we waved goodbye to one of our favourites on this year’s show: Benjamina. The 23-year-old teaching assistant from South London was Star Baker back in Week Four, but fell down this week with second last place in the technical challenge and a Marchpane Tudor Garden that just didn’t, er, march to the top.

While we’re sad to see Benjamina go, it’s her friendship with her fellow contestant Selasi that we’ll miss most. These two had a connection, y’know?

Sadly we won’t get to see anymore Benjamina-and-Selasi fun on Bake Off any longer, but the two of them have been pretty cute indeed on Twitter today.

This morning, Selasi tweeted a lovely message of support to his “sister” Benjamina, calling her a “good egg and an awesomely talented baker.”
