Ed Sheeran Tickets Are Already Being Resold For More Than €1,400 Despite Warnings From Ticketmaster

Before tickets for Ed Sheeran’s seven Irish concerts went on sale on Saturday, Ticketmaster issued some very strict warnings to customers against buying anything from ticket touting sites.

The official ticket retailer advised people NOT to buy tickets as presents for family or friends unless they’re going to the concert too. The name of the person who made the purchase will be printed on the tickets, and if that person does not attend the gig, then the rest of the party won’t be admitted. So if people buy tickets from second-party sellers, their names won’t be on the ticket and as such, they won’t be let inside.

Despite these new regulations, Ed Sheeran tickets have already appeared on touting sites such as Viagogo for over €1000. Considering the original ticket price was €91, there’s no doubt that fans are being ripped off.

Aiken Promotions issued a statement earlier today saying, “Aiken Promotions caution fans to beware of fraudulent and invalid tickets and websites. Fans are strongly advised NOT to purchase tickets via ANY secondary sellers or ANY unofficial source.

“Some websites are offering E Tickets/Print at home Tickets. These tickets do not exist for ANY of the sold-out Ed Sheeran Irish tour dates. In addition seated tickets are on offer for seats that do not exist. The tickets are not legitimate and must be avoided.”

Over 300,000 tickets to Ed’s tour were sold on Saturday, the biggest ever number of tickets sold by an artist in Ireland in one day. The seven gigs across Belfast, Galway, Cork and Dublin have now officially sold out.
