Sarah Jessica Parker’s Wild SATC Conspiracy Theory Has Blown Our Minds
Sex and the City theories will never grow old.
Although it hasn’t exactly aged like a fine wine should, Sex and the City will always be the iconic show we thought it was at the time. We went through break up after break up with the main character Carrie (Berger’s note was unforgivable), as well as the trials and tribulations that Carrie’s three best friends – Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte – went through too. But now, Sarah Jessica Parker, who played the fabulous Carrie, has dropped a major bombshell that’s making us think twice about each and every storyline.
In a recent interview, SJP admitted that she often wondered if her three gal pals were just figments of her imagination.
Sometimes I’m like, we don’t even know if Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte were real. Sometimes I’m like, hmmm, just to mess with myself. Think about it: did Carrie make them up? She’s telling the story every week. This is her point of view, it’s almost always her point of view.
We’re gonna need a few moments to wrap our heads around this. Sarah Jessica Parker then went on to tell news.com.au that even if the characters were made up in Carrie’s mind, that it didn’t actually matter. She said it was the beauty, strength and joy of female friendships is what really mattered to the audience.
“These friendships, real or not real, as described were beyond a source of joy and a connection and a way of relating. They were a necessity. I think that they really made an impact with audiences, because either they were feeling that way… or they wanted to feel that way.”
This isn’t the first time as conspiracy theory claims that a popular TV show’s characters weren’t real. Remember that rumour sneaking around that Phoebe made up the rest of the Friends gang, that she was only ever looking at the lives from afar? Pretty dark, we’ll take the show as it is thank you very much.
