What’s Coming To Netflix This May?
There's a whole load of goodness coming our way
We can’t be the only people who get excited at the end of each month at the prospect of all the new bits being adding to streaming service Netflix come the new month? With COVID restrictions still high, it’s fair to say we’ve absolutely exhausted our Netflix accounts for another month, and so we’re excited at the idea of something new to sink our teeth into this May.
From gripping documentaries to light-hearted series’ there’s plenty for everyone to enjoy – here are just some of our faves.
Series’
Below Deck
It’s trashy, and dramatic, just how we like it. Netflix is adding multiple seasons of American reality TV show Below Deck to their service. It follows the lives of young people living and working atop some of the most luxurious yachts in the world – expect lots of hooking up, arguments, and tears.
Master Of None S3
Following on from a rocky season 2. We’re hoping that season 3 of Master Of None will give us the answers we’re looking for, will Dev and Francesca get married? Will Dev move abroad? We’ll soon find out.
Selena: The Series
A biographical drama following the story of Mexican-American singer Selena as she rises to fame, navigating the challenges that come along the way.
Jupiter’s Legacy
Landing on the 7th of May, this hotly anticipated series based on a comic book series tells the story of the descendants of superheroes, living in the shadow of their legendary parents.
Movies
The Woman In The Window
Landing on Netflix in mid May (14th May), this film starring Amy Adams was originally set for release in cinemas last summer. Based on the best-selling novel of the same title, it depicts the story of a woman with mental health issues who witnesses acts of brutality all from the safety of her window.
Bridesmaids
Sure to put a smile on your face, 2011 blockbuster Bridesmaids is among the list of classics being added to the service. Directed by Paul Feig, the comedy follows the hilarious story of a bride and her bridesmaids as they plan her big day and run into problems along the way.
Inglourious Basterds
If you’re looking for something to sink your teeth into with the other half one evening, look no further. 2009 war film starring Brad Pitt, Diane Kruger and Christop Waltz, follows the story of Jewish Soilders who are on an undercover mission to bring down the Nazi government, ending the war.
Army Of The Dead
Another one for the action lovers out there. Army Of The Dead centers around a zombie apocalypse in Las Vegas and lands on our screens on May 21st.
Documentaries
Money, Explained
Following on from their hugely popular ‘Mind, Explained’ and ‘Sex, Explained’, now it’s time for the concept of money to go under the microscope, explaining what you know and don’t know about the evil necessity.
The Last Days
Telling the harrowing tale of five Hungarian Jewish people who survived the holocaust and Hitler’s reign, the documentary (1998) has previously won Oscars and has been described as a ‘must-see’ for all.
