Ariana Grande Reminds Followers Not To Comment On People’s Bodies In New Video

Ariana Grande has taken to TikTok to address her fans “concern” about her appearance and remind people that we shouldn’t be commenting on anyone’s looks.

The singer, who is currently filming the Wicked movie, took to Instagram in a rare piece to camera video speaking candidly about her health and rumours about her.

“I just wanted to address your concerns about my body and talk a little bit about what it means to be a person with a body and to be seen and to be paid so much attention to.

“I think we should be gentler and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies, no matter what. If you think you’re saying something good or well intentioned, whatever it is…We should really work toward not doing that as much.”

Continuing she explained that there are many different kinds of beauty and clarified that the body that people have been comparing her current look to, was “the unhealthiest version of [her]body.”

“I was on a lot of antidepressants, and drinking on them and eating poorly and at the lowest points of my life when I looked the way you consider ‘my healthy’. But that in fact wasn’t my healthy, and I know I shouldn’t have to explain that, but I feel like maybe having an openness and some sort of vulnerability, some good could come from it, I don’t know.”

Ariana went on to remind followers that we never know what someone is dealing with.

“Even if you are coming from a loving place or a caring place, that person probably is working on it or has a support system that they are working on it with. You never know, so be gentle with each other and with yourselves.”

Ending the video Ariana reminded everyone that they are beautiful and asked fans not to “freak out” about her eyes because she didn’t have any eyeliner or lashes on in the clip.

The fact that Ariana had to remind people not to comment on her body, or anyone’s body for that matter, is such a shame in 2023. Have we not learned if you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all?
