Harry Styles Shuts Down Haters With Jaw Dropping Slane Castle Gig

It was a magical performance from Harry!

If you were one of the 80,000 people in attendance at Harry Styles’ Slane show, well then you know what we’re talking about when we say jaw dropping. The former One Direction star commanded the stage and every single person there’s attention as he sang and danced his way through a two hour performance.

When it was announced back in August 2022 that Harry would be bringing his Love On Tour European tour to the iconic stage there were many who dubbed the choice of artist for Slane 2023 an “insult”.

While many Irish fans were only delighted by the news of their favourite artist returning, many others believe it to be an “insult” to all the legends who have played on the stage in the past.

One said: “Harry Styles is playing at the world-renowned rock venue, Slane Castle. Well, I guess I won’t be making the pilgrimage next year so. Rumour mill had me believe that AC/DC or Pearl Jam were going to play which would be a more fitting act for the iconic venue.”

While another jumped in to say: “Is Harry Styles the weakest ever headline act to grace the stage of Slane Castle? #Godbewiththedays #slane #slane2023.”

It seems those complaining weren’t quite aware of the power of Harry Styles, an artist who prides himself as well as his diverse fandom on treating people with kindness!

Harry took to the stage on Saturday night at 8.30pm to screaming fans of every age as he performed hits like Adore You, Watermelon Sugar and Sign Of The Times.

The 29-year old truly had the entire crowd in the palm of his hand as he performed tune after tune from all three of his solo albums – Harry Styles, Fine Line and Harry’s House.

Feather boas, cowboy hats and an abundance of glitter began making their way to Slane Castle in the early hours of Saturday morning to experience what was expected to be one of the most anticipated concerts of the year.

Alex Conyngham, son of Henry Mountcharles founder of the Slane Castle music scene shared that he was more than excited to welcome Mr Styles to the natural amphitheatre and see a “new generation of fans get their rite of passage”.

Opening the show with a cúpla focail, Harry shared: “When I came here this week every Irish person said to me how big a deal it is to play Slane. Now I know why.”

A concert I don’t think any of us will forget in the near future.

Many fans took to Twitter after the show to commend the multi-faceted artist on a job well done.
