How To Watch The Oscars In Ireland

Here's how you can support the Irish talent at this year's Oscars!

This year’s Academy Awards are an extra special one for the Irish so no doubt you’ll want to tune into the live show just like us. So if you want to watch the ceremony live then stay tuned because we’ve got some answers for you.

The biggest event of the year in the awards calendar is upon us and we couldn’t be more excited. The 95th Academy Awards is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles this Sunday March 12th. It will be hosted by none other than talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.

This year Irish talent reigned supreme with a total of 14 nominations across all categories which include 9 nominations for Irish film The Banshees of Inisherin, a nomination in the best actor category for 27-year-old Maynooth man Paul Mescal and his lead role in the film Aftersun as well 4 other nominations in the costume, international feature film, film editing and visual effects categories.

This year’s awards presenters will include Halle Bailey, Antonio Banderas, Elizabeth Banks, Jessica Chastain, Andrew Garfield, Hugh Grant and Nicole Kidman to name a few.

We will see performances from Rihanna, Sofia Carson and Diane Warren as well as David Byrne, Stephanie Hsu and Son Lux. They will all perform their own songs which were chosen as part of some of the nominated films soundtracks.

The Oscars will take place 12am-3am local time and can be viewed in Ireland, legally, you will be happy to hear!

This year’s ceremony will be available to view live on Sky Showcase and Sky Cinema and can also be watched on NowTV and on Now Entertainment with a membership.
