Jenna Ortega ‘Devastated’ She Couldn’t Return For You Season 4

Jenna Ortega was devastated when she couldn’t return for You Season 4 due to scheduling conflicts.

It has recently been revealed that You’s showrunner Sera Gamble wanted to bring Jenna Ortega back to reprise her role as Ellie Alves in the 4th season of the psychological-thriller series but unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts the popular actress was unable to commit.

It was noted that she was in Romania at the time, shooting for the debut season of Wednesday, the Netflix hit series based on the teenage years of the ever popular Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family.

Jenna recently stated during an interview with Entertainment Tonight that she was devastated to have missed the shot to reprise her role as Ellie and that You was one of her favourite sets she’s ever had the pleasure of working on.

She said: “Easily one of my favorite sets that I’ve ever, ever been on. I was so devastated. I miss Ellie, and I’ve been wanting to go back to Ellie for a long time, but I was in Romania shooting Wednesday. I couldn’t travel back and forth with the pandemic and everything like that, and when you’re committed to a show there’s just no way that it could’ve worked out. But that one, that bummed me out. I tried”.

Sera the showrunner for You has shared their desire to get Jenna back as Ellie for future seasons of the hit Netflix show.

She’s said: “It’s been just such a pleasure to see Jenna this year. We have ideas for Ellie if her schedule allows her to visit us again”.

Jenna Ortega starred in the hit Netflix coming-of-age series Wednesday as well as taking on roles in Scream (2022), X and Ellie Alves in season 2 of You. Wednesday has now been renewed for a second season after the first season set a record for most streamed tv show in its first week reaching a massive 341.23 million hours – that’s a hell of a lot of TV!

Wednesday season 1 and You season 4 are available to stream on Netflix now.
