Lewis Capaldi’s brand new Netflix documentary makes its debut on the streaming platform later this week. Sadly in the lead up to the release Lewis has revealed some heart breaking news that he may have to put an end to his singing career.

Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now is set to air on Netflix on April 5th giving us a look inside the Scottish singer’s everyday life as well as opening up about his mental health and his Tourettes diagnosis.

In a brand new interview with The Times, the 26-year-old sadly revealed giving up his singing career is a “real possibility” if his Tourettes worsens at all.

On the topic he explained: “It’s only making music that does this to me, otherwise I can be fine for months at a time, so it’s a weird situation. Right now, the trade-off is worth it, but if it gets to a point where I’m doing irreparable damage to myself, I’ll quit. I hate hyperbole but it is a very real possibility that I will have to pack music in”.

He continued on revealing just how bad his ticks get particularly when he sits down to play the piano: “My twitch gets worse when I sit down to play piano, physically painful. And I get really short of breath and it’s like my back f***ing kills me when I go to do it”.

He revealed his twitches got particularly bad in 2020: “The twitches became out of control it was awful, absolutely horrific. I started to get in my head about it, you know these pressures about things. Rather than just me singing my silly little songs other people are depending on me”.

Well Lewis you know you’ve got the public’s support no matter what – you’re a Scottish national treasure!
