Rihanna Is Set To Perform at This Year’s Academy Awards

Are we all ready for the performance of the year? Rihanna is set to perform at the Oscars and we couldn’t be more excited.

The 35-year-old created the song Lift Me Up for the Oscar nominated film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and will be performing it on the night.

The song is up for Best Original Song, marking her first ever Oscar nomination having created it alongside, Tems, Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Görannson.

Rihanna will be up against some other famous music faces including Lady Gaga, Diane Warren and Mitski.

US talk show host Jimmy Kimmell will be hosting this year’s 95th annual award ceremony which will take place on Sunday March 12th 2023 .

Rihanna is returning to the stage after an incredible performance at the Super Bowl halftime show, her first in 7 years where she also announced her 2nd pregnancy with boyfriend A$AP Rocky. 

The Barbadian star took to the Superbowl stage in a red boiler suit for her 13 minute set. She performed a number of her top hits including Umbrella, Only Girl In The World and Work.

Many women have presented and accepted the awards while pregnant but the only other woman to perform at the Academy Awards while pregnant is Catherine Zeta Jones.

She was eight months pregnant when she  performed I Move On from Chicago at the 2003 awards ceremony and gave birth only a few weeks later.

The 95th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 12 at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised in more than 200 territories worldwide.
