Stranger Things Expanding With Brand New Netflix Show
The Stranger Things universe is expanding!
Get ready to explore the upside down in 2D animation.
The creators of Stranger Things, Matt and Ross Duffer have just announced a brand new Netflix animated series set inside the upside down, they also revealed that this venture is a long time passion project that is finally getting to see the light of day.
Chatting with E!News they said: “We’ve always dreamed of an animated Stranger Things in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons that we grew up loving, and to see this dream realised has been absolutely thrilling. We couldn’t be more blown away by what Eric Robles and his team have come up with—the scripts and artwork are incredible, and we can’t wait to share more with you! The adventure continues…”.
Eric, who has created much loved animated tv series such as Netflix’s Glitch Tech and Nickelodeon’s Fanboy and Chum Chum, created the brand new show inside the upside down with the Robles brothers acting as producers on the new series
Unfortunately this is all the brothers let slip about their new show, we’re all waiting to hear whether some of our favourite Stranger Thing’s characters will make an animated appearance. This is just one of many new franchise expansions with a live action series coming our way in the near future.
It seems that while the brothers remain tight lipped about the animated show they had a few words to share with fans about what to expect from the live action series. While on the Happy Sad Confused podcast last July they said: “I’ve read these rumors that there’s gonna be an Eleven spinoff, that there’s gonna be a Steve and Dustin spinoff or that it’s another number. That’s not interesting to me because we’ve done all that. We’ve spent I don’t know how many hours exploring all of that”.
As we await the fifth and final season of the beloved hit show along with the franchise expansion you can watch all 4 seasons of Stranger Things on Netflix.
