Searching for some dinner inspo? Or maybe you just like a nose (gal after our own heart)! Either way, we have the scoop on what some of our faves dish up in a day. This month, it’s the turn of influencer and nutritionist Jodie Wood.
What is your go-to breakfast?
I always start my day with eggs, I love mashed avocado on toast with lots of chilli flakes and an egg on top! Protein has the highest satiety value of all nutrients so I always make sure to include it in with a breakfast alongside a carb that’s high in fibre to keep my energy levels high and steady.
What do you usually have for lunch and dinner?
Lunch varies massively for me, I usually graze between breakfast and dinner on lots of little bits rather than one big meal. I love hummus and crackers, bits of cheese and fruit, pita breads, olives and that kind of picky stuff during the day. Then for my evening meal I have a big dinner, my favourite meals are usually pasta-bakes like turkey meatballs or chicken penne a la vodka.
We also barbeque a lot all year round. I like to take my magnesium supplement after dinner to help support my sleep too.
What 5 items do you always put in your shopping basket?
Chicken breast, smoked salmon, rye bread, loads of vegetables and Nobo ice cream!

What are your favourite snacks?
A skinny bagel with cream cheese, carrot sticks and dip, apple slices and peanut butter or a packet of crisps!
What are the most used items on your spice/herb rack?
Italian herb seasoning, chili flakes, spicy peanut rayu!
What is your desert island dish?
Lobster linguine followed by tiramisu, both from my favourite restaurant in Spain, Casa Tua… I dream about them!

Would you call yourself a foodie?
I have always loved eating but not so much cooking, I feel that has come more so with age and the fact that dining out hasn’t been an option this year, so I’ve had to up my game at home. As a nutritionist, I have always had an interest in the health side of food for as long as I can remember too.
How do you stay motivated when it comes to health and fitness?
When it comes to health, taking my morning supplements of B Complex and Omega 3 Fish Oils, means I feel confident in knowing I’ve done something positive that day to support my energy levels and immune system. No matter how the rest of the day goes I know it will have started well.
I am not hugely focused on working out at the moment but more so on exercising my mental health. I go for a big walk every day with one of the kids in a pram usually and that ticks the box for me, I plug a podcast in and love that hour of the day in peace, it’s my ‘me time’.

Describe your ideal workout.
When I do want to tone up and exercise more I always go back to pilates, specifically reformer pilates when studios are open. It completely transformed my body and I really enjoy the workout as it feels so good to stretch.
What is your #1 self-care tip?
Try to listen to your body more and get in tune with your physical and emotional needs, if you feel tired – slow down, if you feel hungry – then eat. Never ignore the little voice inside your head!
