‘Cold Girl’ Makeup Has Taken Over Our Feeds, But What Is It Exactly?

It's a lifestyle tbh

‘Cold Girl Winter’ is definitely here, both figuratively and literally. Ireland is currently experiencing a ‘cold snap’, and so the cold girl aesthetic feels all a little too real for us.

This is the perfect time to take on TikTok’s latest trend- ‘Cold Girl Makeup’- which enhances the frosted look that we all get with these sub-zero temperatures!

If you usually go a little heavy-handed on the blush, this is the ideal makeup look to add to your beauty routine this Christmas.

How is it done?

Natural Glowy Base

For the base of this makeup, you’re going to want something natural and glowy. Many TikTok users taking part in the trend recommend Charlotte Tilbury’s Flawless Filter foundation as a base for this look.

The next step is to add a bit of definition to the face by contouring your cheeks, forehead and nose. Go very light with the contouring- you’re just looking to add some definition, but you definitely don’t want the bronzed look for this makeup, which is kind of ideal for us pasty Irish gals tbh.

Frozen Eyebrows

To add to the cold effect, many makeup fans have been adding soap brows to their cold girl look.

The spiky look of the soap brows gives the illusion that your brow hairs have been frozen in place, it also helps to give some lift to the face and eyes. While this isn’t essential to the look, it is a fun addition.

Blush

There are two different ways to go about the blush for this look, depending on how intense you want it to be.

1- Take the blush on the apples of your cheeks and the tip of your nose.

OR

2- Take the blush across your cheeks and over the bridge of your nose lightly. Then go back and add some more intensity to the tip of the nose and cheeks.

This is the most important part of the look, so be sure to go wild with it!

Lips

The lips for this look are pretty simple. Apply a lip tint, or smudge a bit of pink or red lipstick on the inner part of your lips.

Then for the piece de resistance, add a clear gloss or lip oil over the top.

Eyes

Finally, the eyes for this look are supposed to look frosty. Add your favorite glitter or shimmer to the center of your eyelid, and the inner corner of your eye.

Add a little bit of blush along the lower lash line for extra added effect. Curl your lashes, add some light mascara, and you’re ready to go!

Would you try out this makeup for an evening of ice skating, or even your Christmas party?
