I’ve tried every trick (re: product) in the book when it comes to getting the luscious long mermaid waves that my heart desires but alas, it was never meant to be. I can and I have faked it with extensions which up until last year were my crutch, but now, I’m on a mission to achieve the bare minimum, which is simply healthier and fuller hair. So, if you’re also on the lookout for the star product that trumps the lot, keep reading, as I’m putting them all to the test so you don’t have to!

LUNA’s Volume Haircare Range €12 – €14

8/10

My thin strands require a lot of volume in order to look thick, and LUNA’s cult Volume trio leave it looking bouncy, shiny and most importantly, with a lot more body after every single use. The foam also offers thermal protection which is great for fragile hair to give it that TLC it needs before a blow dry. What I absolutely love about this range too has got to be its price point, if you’re looking for slightly more affordable haircare, this is the one for you!

KEVIN.MURPHY BODY.MASS €37.50

10/10

Created using eyelash thickening and lengthening technology, this product is my SAVIOUR… and for many a reason. Firstly, it’s so easy to apply and you don’t need to rinse it (a lazy gal’s dream!) Simply wash your hair, I personally love KEVIN.MURPHY’s plumping shampoo and conditioner, then spray the product through towel dried hair. It’s sulphate, paraben and cruelty-free, but best of all, it leaves my hair looking thick, bouncy and healthy on the go! Stunning, hun.

Tangle Teezer Fine & Fragile €14.95

8/10

Preventing breakage and damage is key when your hair is already thin to begin with. So for me, combining good products with good tools is so important. Taking the fear out of brushing my fine hair, this Tangle Teezer glides through my hair without pulling on it – a major success. The bristles are also 30% softer than the original Tangle Teezer, and can be used in wet or dry hair.

OUAI Fine Hair Shampoo – €27.45

6/10

When it comes to celebrity endorsed products, I am a sucker. So, when Jen Atkin, AKA Kardashian hairdresser and BFF co-founded haircare brand OUAI, I’ll admit I was sold before even trying a single product. Luckily for those who aren’t as easily bought as I am, the products are actually very good. I adore the pocket sized leave-in conditioner that leaves your hair smelling like summer fruits, but the Fine Hair Shampoo is also pretty good. Not good enough to take first place, no, but it’s stiff competition around here!

R+Co Dallas Biotin Thickening Shampoo – €30

8/10

All hail the thickening benefits of biotin. R+Co is relatively new to the scene, having only been around for a few years, but the brand has already established a name for itself as being elite when it comes to haircare. For me, the thickening shampoo certainly ticks all the boxes, as my hair is flat as well as being fine – the gift that keeps on giving, this product is one that I’ll be repurchasing. As biotin improves the keratin infrastructure of hair, this product aims to increase hair strength and vitality, meaning thicker healthier locks, yes, please.

Andrew Fitzsimons MODEL Volume Boosting Wave Spray – €14.99

9/10

If you’re looking for a quick, affordable fix, when it comes to creating volume, Andrew Fitzsimons MODEL Volume Boosting Wave Spray is a suitcase must-have. Perfect for days after the beach when you want to create a textured and tousled look but you haven’t got all evening. Simply scrunch and twist it into towel dried hair and away you go. No wonder Andrew has a wreath of celebrity clients, he’s a hair genius and we adore a product that’s simple to use and seriously effective. A win, win.
