Get STELLAR Cover Star Pippa O’Connor’s Hair And Make-Up Look
Wanna get Pippa's cover-girl look? We've got you covered with the low-down on the techniques and products used on our shoot!
Hair
Joanne Kelly was the hair maestro on our cover shoot this month, working her magic on Pippa’s golden tresses. So what did she do – and what products did she use?
Clockwise from left: Bumble and bumble Pret-a-Powder, €31.37; Sachajuan Ocean Mist, €25.59; Balmain Paris Hair Couture Texturizing Salt Spray, €27; Bumble and bumble City Swept Finishing Spray, €37.83; Oribe Apres Beach Wave & Shine Spray, €20.
“This style works really well on day-old hair,” says Joanne. “Spray some dry shampoo all over the hair before you begin to make it feel really light.
“Pick up random pieces of hair, wanding them an inch or two away from the root then leave the ends out. Keeping the ends straight will help keep this look really casual and relaxed,” she recommends.
“A little tip is to wand each piece in a different direction, so wave some towards the face and some away from the face – when you are finished, shake it out and run your fingers through it to break up and loosen the waves.”
The final touch? “Finish with some salt spray, I used a Balmain Paris Hair Couture one today. Flip your hair over and dry the product into the hair.”
Make-up
Pippa’s gorgeous, dewy, fresh look was created by make-up expert Kate Rose Crean, who’s also the genius behind the incredible Dusty Boy Designs. Let’s get into it, shall we?
Clockwise from bottom left: Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Make-up Base, €45.50; MAC Warm Neutral Times 15 palette, €77.35; Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade, €21.33; Charlotte Tilbury Air-Brush Flawless Finish Skin-Perfecting Micro Powder, €46.92; Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate, €79.63; MAC Lipliner in Rosy Rim, €14.56; MAC Eye Kohl in Teddy, €19.91; Kevin Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer, €55.27; Ren Clarimatte T-Zone Balancing Gel Cream, €31.71; MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Coral Bliss, €22.04; MAC Strobe Cream, €14.22.
“I wanted to keep everything really fresh, soft and summery,” says Kate, “so I used a palette of golds and corals.”
For skin, it was all about keeping things fresh and dewy, so, says Kate: “I used lots of illuminating products for her skin with just a little powder down her T-zone.”
Then, for lips, it was “a soft pop of colour – a gorgeous lipstick from MAC called Coral Bliss. Her blusher was a cream blusher (great for giving the impression of fresh, dewy skin during the summer) from Bobbi Brown called Powder Pink!”
