While it isn’t a new style, we definitely wore the style in primary school, it has been given a new lease of life thanks to Instagram and TikTok creators. They’ve also popped up on a number of celebrities in the last couple of years including Doja Cat, Priyanka Chopra and Gigi and Bella Hadid. Sydney Sweeney’s Euphoria character, Cassie Howard, also donned a bubble braid for a lot of the hit series.

We love the look of a complicated plait but anything that can simplify the morning rush is an automatic yes from us. The fact it hides third day hair and dodgy roots is just a bonus.
