Here Is Everything You Need To Know About Saoirse Ronan’s Stunning Oscars Look
From her makeup to her jewels.
If you stayed up to watch the Oscars red carpet arrivals last night, you were probably dying to see what three-time nominee Saoirse Ronan would wear.
And she didn’t disappoint, looking absolutely beautiful in a pink Calvin Klein By Appointment gown.
The dress was designed by Calvin Klein’s Raf Simons especially for Saoirse, with the guidance of her stylist Elizabeth Saltzman.
Saltzman told Vogue that she wanted the gown to be timeless and feminine:
It is a pink, which is what I was trying not to do, but it was just right… It needed to be about Saoirse, as a person.
Here’s the best bit though – the dress was after-party adaptable:
The train comes off, so she can party her ass off.
Ideal! Her only accessories were a pair of Cartier diamond drop earrings and a matching vintage diamond ring, which is really all you need when you’re a natural stunner.
For makeup, MUA Kara Yoshimoto Bua created a soft pink look inspired by cherry blossoms – she used Chanel’s Vitalumiere foundation to get a flawless base, plus the new Rouge Coco Lip Blushes for lips, eyes, AND cheeks. Multi-purpose! We like it.

Finally, to her gruaig. For most of awards season Saoirse has had longer hair, but for the Oscars she bravely decided go for a blunt bob. It looks to us like a nod to her character’s hair in Lady Bird – her hairdresser Adir Abergel confirmed this, and said that they also did it to complement the Calvin Klein dress:
Saoirse and I had been talking for a while about doing a major cut and after finally seeing the dress, which was so modern and linear, we knew this was the moment to do it.
She’s come a long way from the little green dress she wore to her first Oscars back in 2008 at the tender age of 13. Gorgeous, Saoirse!
