Here’s Everything Team STELLAR Is Loving This Week

You're more than welcome.

Another week, another Friday.

And another meaty addition of everything Team STELLAR is loving this week to sink your teeth into.

If you’re feeling fairly miserable over the weather, or simply have no exciting plans for the weekend, never fear, because we’ve got a whole host of delicious treats, cool events, and generally fun bits to get you hyped for the next few days ahead.

Enjoy.

Jade is loving… Annie: The Musical

Tomorrow, tomorrow… etc, etc.

Calling all musical fans – Annie is coming to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre from 22 August until the September 3.

Starring Strictly Come Dancing’s Craig Revel Horwood in the iconic role of Miss Hannigan, this is one show fans are going to be sure they won’t want to miss.

The Bord Gais also sent Team STELLAR an adorable cushion (along with some other bits) this week to celebrate. Sorry, how cute?

Aoife is loving… Puppy love!

I haven’t had a pet since my childhood dog, and I’m holding out on one til I have my own home, but I take serious pride in being the fun aunt to all of my friends and family member’s animals. (Yes, I am as needy as that sounds).

That’s why I practically squealed when I saw that the new PetStop in Blackrock are having a Pet Party for their grand opening tomorrow, Saturday 8th. How cute is that?!

There’ll be free puppucinos, pet photography, and the unveiling of the new Petstop bakery (stop it!). It’s on from 12-4pm, and the first 300 customers will get a goody bag. Adorable. Please ignore me when you see me with a basket full of treats for pets that I don’t own…

Lorna is loving…  Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)

Speak Now will forever and always be my fave Swiftie era. I had just turned 12 and was in my second year of secondary school when it originally dropped in 2010.

I  can remember sitting crying in my room over the songs, whether or not my little 12-year-old heart had been broken by a boy yet was totally irrelevant to little old me. But now, as a 26-year-old it’s nostalgic and fun to look back and see, it went from a love of her music to an understanding of her music, as I and many of her fans got older and experienced more of what life was going to throw at us.

Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is available to stream now from Spotify and Apple Music. Yes, I’ll be screaming and streaming for the rest of the weekend.

Jade is loving… Cheap beauty

I’m a low maintenance kinda gal. I like things to be cheap, cheerful, and most importantly, worth the money – or else I’m not buying it. Sorry.

Lucky for me (and lots of other people, probably), Lidl has just confirmed that shoppers love their Irish-made, vegan self-tan as much as we do.

91% of those surveyed found the brand’s Vegan Self-Tanning Mousse ‘Marbella Glow’ to be better value than their usual tan of choice, with 90% saying that the tan is of high quality.

Can’t argue with that, can you?

Aoife is loving… Comedy gigs

If you need to spice up your date nights or just want to try something a little different, a comedy gig is the answer. It’s a great alternative to just getting drinks, and not as much of a commitment as going to the cinema, but you still get to switch off and enjoy a show!

I’m particularly mad about supporting female comedians, especially because we’ve such great talent in this country. If you’re in Galway, pop into Laughter Loft in The Kings Head. They’ve got a comedy festival running the month of July with acts on from 1pm every day.

You’ll see the likes of Emma Doran, Aideen McQueen, Ross Browne and Colm O’Regan, each one as gas as the next. No need to book, it’s first come first serve. Ah go on, you deserve a good giggle!

Lorna is loving… Sunday brunch

Sundays are one of my least favourite days of the week. Nobody wants to do anything as they get ready to start the work week again and it just tends to pass by in the blink of an eye.

But, brunching on Sunday? Well it’s quite nice and if it means you get to spend time with friends and family, then it’s a total plus.

The Alex in Dublin’s city centre (it’s right up the road from Pearse street station) is a great place for brunch. Their menu covers everyone’s dietary choices and is quite delicious.

I headed in last Sunday to try it out with my mum and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We both had the lobster roll with sweet potato fries, they were the stand out for me. I’m a bit of a sweet potato connoisseur and they really were some of the best I’ve had!

Jade is loving… New Dublin venues

@stellarmagazine It’s just opened on Harcourt st – and the #cocktails are delicious 🍸💜 #dublin #fyp ♬ Little Things x Gypsy Woman – L BEATS MASHUP – Jorja Smith

Nice to have somewhere else to go, y’know?

Pressup’s chain of The Dean hotels have recently opened their newest Harcourt street extension, The Dean Townhouse.

Decked out with a lovely event space, beautiful bar, and boutique hotel rooms, the new spot is sure to attract tourists and townies alike.

The cocktails are, by the way, incredible. Let it be known.
