Raining Again? Your Guide To Hairstyles That’ll Survive Manky Irish Weather
Indestructible braids, pre-windswept hair and slick roots... come at us, rain.
Ireland’s been unable to decide between sun and snow (yes, ACTUAL snow) of late, a fact that has been wreaking havoc with our beauty routine.
We’ve had one too many hair meltdowns after a sudden burst of wind and rain, so we’ve put together this guide to weather-proof styles.
Match your DGAF attitude to your devil-may-care hair with these killer looks.
1. Braid that fringe
Your fringe is the first thing to fall flat after a wind/rain/snow storm, so prepare for the worst with a braid á la Emma Stone.
2. Be one step ahead
If your hair already looks windswept, you have nothing to lose. Sweep it to one side and add texture with a good spritz of dry shampoo or a volumising spray.
3. Go half-up
This style can be messy as anything and still look cool. Blake knows what’s what.
4. Choose a boxer braid
Gigi, Khloé, Karlie… if these style queens are rocking a double-braid it must be worth a go. The ultimate extreme-weather style.
5. Texturise it
You’ll never see Alexa Chung looking like a drowned rat. Her low-maintenance hairstyle is the perfect choice for days when you’ve no idea what weather you’ll be facing into. Which, if you live in Ireland, is every day.
6. Slick it
If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em. Use a wet look gel for slicked roots, and keep your ends textured and dry. Instant glam.
