The Bargain Penneys Foundation Everyone Has Been Talking About

It starts off as a whisper, and then suddenly you’re seeing it anywhere and everywhere, or at least that’s the case with this Penneys foundation.

After hearing it compared to Estée Lauder’s Double Wear which is one of my favourites, I knew I had to give this a go.

So off I went to my nearest Penneys to give it a go, and I was not disappointed.

The coverage

This has amazing coverage just like the Estée Lauder Double Wear, making it great for anyone with acne, redness or scarring.

You can really build this up to a nice full coverage foundation or I applied with a damp beauty blender to sheer it out to a more medium coverage.

The finish

Although it says it’s a matte foundation, it’s not the most matte textured I’ve ever used. There is also no powdery or chalky finish to the skin.

I applied mine over a rich moisturiser which meant I got a more dewey finish. If you need more staying power from your foundation then you can go for a lighter moisturiser and add some highlighter on top to add back in that glow.

I love Glossier’s Futuredew on top to give that sheeny, glassy look to the skin.

The lasting power

I popped this on at about 7.30am and it was still very intact by the end of the day.

Bear in mind that first thing in the morning I took my dog for a walk in Storm Dennis (not ideal) which meant hair blowing across my face, hat wearing and very watery eyes. This did not budge.

I only applied a light layer of this with a damp sponge as was impressed with the staying power, so I can only imagine how well it would last of you popped on a bit more for a night out or a wedding.

The best news? It’s only €6!
