The Return Of The UGG – But Smaller
Cozy and comfy... and back from the 00s
As the leaves start to change and the colder weather sets in, we see people trade their camis for cardigans, sunglasses for scarves and flip-flops for the ultimate cozy boot – UGGs.
For the fourth year in a row UGG have been making a grand return to fall fashion. Every September, TikTok fills our feed with all the latest styles, leaving all of us wondering which pair of UGGs will dominate our wardrobes this year.
And this season, the spotlight is on the Micro UGG Boot – a slightly different take on last year’s Ultra Mini Platforms. This year’s versions also lean towards more darker colours, like deep drown and black, which are especially popular.

Of course, UGGs aren’t exactly a new trend on the scene. Back in the early 2000s, they were first introduced to the fashion world spotted on Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Moss, and every other major celeb featured in TMZ.
This had every teen wanting to copy the iconic look, of chestnuts UGGs, styled with a Juicy Couture tracksuit or tucked into bootcut jeans. But at the same time, they carried some controversy. While some were entirely not on board with the trend, others were getting totally slagged for rocking a knock-off pair from Penney’s.
Fast forward to today, and those same boots have been rebranded as the ultimate cool-girl essential for autumn/winter, slotting perfectly into the ongoing noughties revival. Like most fashion trends, what once was seen as basic has come full circle, and now undeniably on trend.
Helping to push this comeback is none other than Molly-Mae Hague, our ultimate autumn style icon. In one of her latest YouTube vlogs, she reveals her fresh pair of Micro UGGs, while adding how excited she is for UGG season to finally be back.
And honestly, if Molly-Mae is wearing them, that is all the seal of approval we need to confirm that UGGs are back this season.

And if we didn’t need any more proof, just scroll through your Insta feed, and you can see them in every autumn fashion haul, every Pinterest mood board, and every cosy season styling video.
It’s easy to see why this trend sticks year after year. UGGs are ridiculously comfy and cosy, and the closest thing to a slipper that you can wear out and about. Whether you are pairing them with a cute matching tracksuit for chill days, or jeans and a chunky knit for a coffee date, the versatility of the boot proves why we keep going back every year.

For some they may tick the Clean Girl Aesthetic box, and for others bring some nostalgia, either way, it’s clear this iconic boot isn’t going anywhere soon.
So, with that, it’s time to start creating that mood board – because UGG season has officially arrived.
