If you’re an avid scroller on Instagram, then I’m sure you’ve spotted one hair trend that’s really doing the rounds at the moment.
Bringing us right back to our primary school days, but with a new, more chic and mature take, simple plaits that frame the face are all in again.
We’re talking one or two thin plaits at each side of your centre parting, adding a little lift to your hairstyle in a very simple, yet boho way.
We’re seeing plenty of celebs recently rock the trend, including our November cover star, Laura Whitmore while on the latest episode of Celebrity Juice.
Laura opted for four simple fringe braids, loosely plaited and fasted at the end with elastics. Opting for an 80s inspired outfit to go with the hairstyle, we love Laura’s fit and glam look.

Using a comb and starting from the crown of your head, all you have to simply part your hair down the centre, then, grab two similar strands of hair from your centre parting and plait both of them the whole way down to the end, fasting them with elastics.
Whether you want to opt for loose plaits or thinner, tight plaits, the choice is totally up to you. Both look great and as recently spotted on Belfast YouTuber Olivia Neill, the hairstyle also works with up styles too, as well as more casual fits.
