5 Deadly Festivals To Head To This Weekend
It's a weekend packed full of festival fun. Here are the five that aren't to be missed.
Longitude
Longitude in Marley Park is the big one this one this weekend. Friday night sees Hozier, Little Dragon, Todd Terje and SBTRKT. Saturday’s highlights are Alt-J, Caribou, Jungle and Hudson Mohawke, and Sunday sees The Chemical Brothers, James Blake, Wild Beasts and Jose Gonzalez take to the stage,.
Swords street festival
If you’re not hitting up Longitude, why not head to Swords for their summer street festival? It’s the first year that it’s running and they’ve promised three days filled with theatre, music, food and entertainment to keep their guests occupied. Thousands are expected and the main street will see a street party and live music. There will also be a special theatrical event on Friday evening in the beautiful surroundings of Swords Castle. The whole thing kicks off tomorrow at 6pm.
Camden Quarter Brass & Blues festival
There’s another exciting new happening taking place this weekend in the form of the Camden Quarter Brass & Blues Festival. The whole weekend will be taken up with live music and there’ll be loads of really good new musicians taking over a number of venues in the Dublin 2 area, a lot of them in Whelans and Opium rooms on Camden Street. Here is a break down of some of the gigs you can check out.
Galway Arts festival
The Galway Arts festival is also taking place this weekend and there’s a stack of really interesting things going on, both free and for a small charge. The vibrant city explodes into a variety of happenings, plays, comedy shows, live gigs, concerts, street parties and silent discos. Need we say more? Here’s what you need to know.
Earagail Arts festival
Finally, if you’re in Donegal this weekend, the Earagail Arts festival celebrates all things creative. It’s in a pretty beautiful setting and there’ll be something for everyone. From live music to midnight light displays, there’s an eclectic mix of really interesting stuff lined up. Here are the deets. Enjoy!
