Here’s our round up of the best things to do around the country before December creeps up on us.

Dun Laoghaire Christmas Festival

The Dun Laoghaire Christmas Festival starts in Dublin this weekend and will run all the way until December 23rd. The festival will feature the largest ever display of Christmas lights in Dun Laoghaire, the iconic Ferris Wheel from the movie Grease, a Vintage Funfair, Santa’s Post Box and the very popular Christmas market with a traditional and nostalgic theme, bringing the magic of Christmas and a Winter Wonderland for the festive season. Admission is free at the festivities start at 11:00am and finish at 7:00pm every day.

Winterval

Ireland’s largest winter festival began in Waterford last weekend and will continue until December 23rd. The festival will showcase a range of events and lots of them free. Free Vegan Ice Cream With Ben & Jerry’s

On Saturday the 24th, Ben & Jerry’s Non-Dairy is collaborating with three of Ireland’s most premier vegan restaurants to give out free ice cream as a celebration of World Vegan Month.  Ben & Jerry’s Non-Dairy offers fans of the ice cream a chance to enjoy three of their most popular flavours without having to compromise on their vegan or dairy free dietary choices. Vegans and ice cream lovers in general will be able to sample three delicious non-dairy flavours: Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Chunky Monkey and Peanut Butter & Cookies. Vegan & Gluten Free Christmas Afternoon Tea

Wild Sage Bakery will be popping up in the wonderful Platform 61 on Dublin’s South William Street this coming Sunday the 25th for a Vegan & Gluten Free Christmas Afternoon Tea.  There will be a delicious selection of sweet and savoury baked goods, sandwiches and petit fours.
