Cheers! We Took A Peek Around Jameson Distillery Following An €11 Million Refurbishment And It’s Unreal
We may have found our new drinking spot.
What better way to spend a morning than being guided around Dublin’s historic Jameson Distillery?
Entering through the original brick walls that date back to 1780 (we told you it was historic…) we were brought along an interactive experience, with stories of the distillery’s past, as well as its importance in Irish history since the 18th century.
Visitors have three tour options – a 40-minute ‘Bow St. Experience’ (€18), a 90-minute ‘Whiskey Makers’ masterclass (€55) including the chance to sample whiskey straight from the cask in the maturation warehouse, and a 90-minute ‘Whiskey Shakers’ cocktail masterclass (€55) designed to “unleash your inner mixologist”.
Naturally, we chose the Shakers class. The charming Michael O’Connor taught us how to perfect a Classic Whiskey Sour (shaken, not stirred), an Old Fashioned on the rocks, as well as a refreshing fruit ‘n’ whiskey punch. Delish!
This Whiskey Shakers’ class won’t be open to the public until 1st May, but mark it into your diaries because you’re guaranteed to have gas craic.
Here’s a sneaky peek inside the new distillery…
