Get Excited… Brand New Line-Up Details Have Just Been Revealed For Electric Picnic
One month to go...
It’s finally August, which means we’re into the home stretch for the run-up to Electric Picnic, kicking off on September 2nd at Stradbally Castle Estate.
While official stage times won’t be confirmed for a few weeks yet, more line-up details are filtering in by the day.
If you’re one of the many festivalgoers who find themselves ambling toward the Comedy Tent between acts – or let’s face it, when their hangovers are too bad to deal with any more loud music – then you’re in for a treat this year as a pretty stellar roster of comedians has just been confirmed.
Headlining will be Dylan Moran, who’s making a return to EP after three years to test out his show on an Irish crowd before touring Canada and the US in October. Also up top is David O’Doherty, fresh from his run at the Edinburgh Fringe which kicks off later this week.
Other acts on the line-up this year include Al Porter, US comic Reginald D Hunter, Rubberbandits, Aisling Bea, Abandoman, Colin Murphy, The Lords Of Strut and Republic Of Telly‘s Kevin McGahern.
Plus there’ll be sets from Comedy Tent veterans Fred Cooke, John Colleary, Joe Rooney, Patrick McDonnell, Eric Lalor, Kevin Gildea, Ian Coppinger and Karl Spain, with Andrew Stanley MCing the whole shebang.
It’s shaping up to be a pretty killer EP this year, especially after a brand new woodland area was confirmed last week in the form of Hazel Wood, featuring late-night forest parties, music from Cathy Davey and an end-of-festival dance parade.
The comedy tent runs from 1.30pm to 9pm on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of September.
See you there!
