Is it hot in here? Or is it this workout.

Ladies, get ready to sweat and moan! Have you ever experienced a mind-blowing orgasm while working out? If so, it’s called a coregasm. Yes, you read that right and it’s a real thing that happens to some women during exercise.

Now, before you start thinking of excuses to hit the gym, let’s understand what a coregasm is. It’s an orgasmic feeling that happens when you engage your core muscles during physical activity. The sensation can be intense and pleasurable, and some women have reported reaching climax without any genital stimulation.

Yep, it’s true, crunches can lead to climax!

So, what’s the science behind this?

When you work out, your body releases endorphins, which are feel-good chemicals that can increase your arousal. Plus, as you engage your core muscles, blood flow increases to your pelvic region, which can lead to heightened sensitivity and, in some cases, an orgasm.

If this is something you’ve experienced, do not worry because you are not alone. A study conducted by Indiana University found that about 10% of women have experienced a coregasm at some point in their lives.

Debby Herbenick, Ph.D., who wrote a book on this topic, spoke to Cosmopolitan about the subject in the past and revealed to them that sexual fantasies don’t generally play a part in the process. She told the publication that the more focussed you are the more likely this pleasure may arise. So, it’s not really about what’s going on in your head, but rather what’s going on in your body.

It’s worth noting that not all women experience coregasms, and it’s not a guaranteed outcome of exercise. It’s also not clear why some women experience it while others don’t. However, the theory is that it’s related to the activation of the pelvic floor muscles during certain exercises. These muscles are responsible for supporting your internal organs, and when they contract, it
can create a pleasurable sensation.

And if you thought coregasms were limited to ladies, you’d be wrong! Men have also reported this sensation, although it is less common it can come about from certain exercises such as pullups and chinups.

But, let’s be real. Even though it’s a natural phenomenon, some of us might feel a little embarrassed or confused about it. Is it okay to have an orgasm in public? Are other people noticing? And, what if it happens in the middle of a group fitness class? Don’t worry. Most people won’t be able to tell if you’re having a coregasm, and even if they do, it’s none of their business. So, just keep doing your thing.

Some of the exercises that have supposedly been associated with coregasms include:

So, if you’re planning on doing any of these exercises, make sure to wear comfortable clothes and focus if you’re hoping to have the workout of your life. But don’t be discouraged if it doesn’t happen for you, it’s not something anyone can guarantee, everyone is different.

Remember, exercise is essential for our physical and mental well-being, a mid-session orgasm is just a happy bonus! So, focus on you and see what happens.

Next time you hit the gym, don’t be afraid to push yourself a little harder and see if you can reach that ultimate peak. And who knows – you might just leave the gym with a little extra pep in your step.
