Power Players: The Irish Bloggers You Need To Be Following
Irish bloggers are making serious waves - here's our pick of the biggest birds on the homegrown blogging scene.
Anouska Proetta Brandon’s eponymous blog includes fashion, travel and work – which, for the lucky Dubliner, mainly seems to involve the first two topics. Her travel sections are particularly envy-inducing: written diary-style, you feel as if you are almost on the beach in Bali with her. Almost. anouska.net
Kerrywoman Erika Fox is currently living the NYC dream, working as social media manager for fashion brand, Vince Camuto. As well as fashion and beauty, Erika’s focus frequently shifts to interiors – all clean, white backgrounds and perfect peonies. Serious interior #inspo, right there. retro-flame.com
Make-up fairy Joanne Larby has one of the most active instas around; as well as working as a plus-size model and make-up artist, Joanne has launched #MUA101, a series of workshops detailing how to break into make-up artistry and divulging the tricks of the trade. Her make-up section, too, is a must-see – especially before embarking on any beauty hauls yourself! joannelarby.com
Louise O’Reilly is one of Ireland’s most in-demand plus-size models – and her blog was named Best International Fashion Blog by Cosmopolitan magazine for two years running, as well as being named Most Aussome Fashion Blog by Aussie haircare. Louise is super-cool, and her confidence in curviness – as well as total willingness to be 100% honest about sizing and fits – makes her a deadly one to follow. stylemecurvy.blogspot.com
Did you catch #MyBlogLife in March’s STELLAR mag? If so, you’ll have spotted Nuala Gorham on the back page – we <3 her sleek style and great personal styling, and she has a shades collection worth some serious jealousy. pennyandpolaroids.com
No introductions needed here – Pippa O’Connor is one of Ireland’s best-known models and, now, bloggers. Her site is reaching 25,000 people a day (which is huge in the online world) and has a great variety of topics, from health to beauty, fashion to news. We also love her totally accessible style, and her make-up tutorials are super-endearing! pippa.ie
Rebecca O’Byrne’s Haute So Fabulous just turned two, and celebrated, fittingly, with a star-studded party in the Odeon in Dublin. Her blog covers fashion, beauty (thanks to contributions from The Daily S’ELF‘s Nadia El Ferdaoussi), travel and more and regular updates are guaranteed. hautesofabulous.blogspot.com
Last – but by no means least – Suzanne Jackson is another needs-no-introduction candidate. Suzanne’s blog went from the part-time hobby of a receptionist with a lot of time on her hands to a powerhouse media empire – Suzanne’s side jobs include a brush line for Crown Brushes, her own lashes and a coming-soon range that has tongues wagging. sosueme.ie
