This New Menstrual Cup Can Actually Be Worn During Sex
INTERESTING.
Period sex. It’s a topical subject, with some people thinking it’s the most disgusting thing ever, and others thinking it’s completely normal.
What seems to be the biggest turn-off about doing the deed during that time of the month is the prospect of a mess left to be cleaned up afterwards. The answer to that could be here, as the very first menstrual cup that can be worn during penetrative sex has arrived.
Manufactured by women’s intimate health brand Intimina, the Ziggy Cup is the world’s first reusable menstrual cup that can be worn during intercourse.
Instead of sitting where a traditional tampon or menstrual cup would, the Ziggy Cup rests just below the cervix and away from the vaginal canal. The cup is made from 100% medical grade silicone and features a “leak-proof” double rim.
Global brand director of Intimina Amandine Pranlas-Descours told The Independent: “Half the world will, once, or currently menstruate – at Intimina, we believe it’s high time women were offered more choice, more control, and more freedom during her period.”
The cup has been described by Intimina as “the most comfortable menstrual cup on the market”. It’s collapsable and also comes with a travel case – dead handy.
Slightly pricier than most menstrual cups, the Ziggy Cup will cost €39.95 from the Intimina official website. However, it can be reused for two years, ultimately costing you less than if you were to buy tampons every month. Sounds bloody great to us!
