It’s Time To Cast Your Vote And Meet The STELLAR Short Story Finalists!

Hundreds of you entered, and these six are cream of the crop.

When we put a call out to find Ireland’s next short story superstar, we expected a decent response – after all, there hasn’t been a lot else to do, and why not flex a dormant creative muscle? However, we were NOT expecting the sheer volume of entries – editor Vicki really regretted putting her own email on the post, let us tell you. We received almost 400 stories and we read every single one.

Some were sad, some were funny, some were strange and some were sexy. But what all these six finalists had in common was they stood out from the crowd. From the storyline to the first paragraph, they held our interest throughout and that’s a skill in itself. But now, it’s up to you to cast your vote and help us crown our winner.

Have a read through these incredible excerpts and cast your vote in the poll at the end of this page.

The winner will receive two night’s bed and breakfast in Hotel Doolin on the Wild Atlantic Way, a beauty hamper fit to burst with products, a selection of books from our favourite Irish publishers, a STELLAR subscription for the year plus, their full short story in our August issue.

Yes, you’ve got a very big job on your hands, so read carefully and most importantly, best of luck to our finalists!
