Tasha Ghouri’s Dad takes To Instagram Comments To Defend His Daughter

"Look beyond what you see people!"

In response to negativity and hate aimed at his daughter, Love Island contestant Tasha Ghouri’s Dad has taken to the Instagram comment section to defend her.

Tasha, who recently made it official with fellow islander Andrew Le-Page after asking him to be her boyfriend, has been subject to some negativity on social media. The dancer and model grew visibly upset on the show after placing among the bottom three girls in a public vote for favourite islander.

Tasha’s father, Tarek Ghouri, has been quick to jump to her defence on Instagram, sharing a lengthy reply to one comment the 23-year-old’s father expressed “shock” at seeing “ableist comments” directed towards his daughter, targeting Tasha’s deafness.

“Tash wanted to do it to represent deaf kids teens and adults, and show they have nothing to fear by embracing their deafness or hearing aids. It’s why hers is bright white!” Tasha’s dad explained.

Clapping back against those who criticised Tasha’s emotional responses, the dancer’s father pointed to a hidden reason behind Tasha’s upset, “Staying involved in conversation when you can only hear robotic sounds in only one of your ears is mentally draining. This leads to tiredness and sometimes tears.”

The love island contestant’s father has been vocal about Tasha’s resilience in overcoming the challenges of deafness, sharing a pic to his own Instagram account of a young Tasha captioned, “Some people have had more knockbacks than many others in their 23 years. It’s not about just being in the danger zone 3 times. Look beyond what you see people! Imagine your youth being deaf.”
