People in their droves are signing a petition to stop James Corden from taking part in the new Wicked movie.

While the actor turned presenter is known and loved for his on-screen roles, most notably Smithy in 00s sitcom Gavin and Stacey, thousands still have very strong feelings against him appearing in another musical movie.

Online, James received a lot of criticism for his roles in Hollywood products such as Cats and Cinderella. So in light of that, people are pretty against seeing James on the big screen again.

85,000 people, and counting to be exact. Set up on Change.org, the petition’s goal is to reach 150,000 signatures. With the description explaining:

“James Corden in no way shape or form should be in or near the production of Wicked the movie. that’s pretty much it”

The movie, directed by renowned filmmaker, Jon M Chu has a whole host of famous faces already signed up to it, including Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

As it stands, James has not been announced to take part in the musical, fans are simply taking the petition as a precautionary measure to prevent the late-night talk show host from taking part in it.

James is yet to address the petition.
