9 STELLAR Questions With Irish Musician Tia Burke

She’s on the up.

Tia Burke’s star is only rising, and if you haven’t seen her busking on the streets, you’re likely to see her on more stages soon.

Fresh off the stage from her gig in the 3Olympia Theatre – supporting Self Esteem, none the less – Tia has had a whirlwind couple of weeks.

She recently took part in Three Ireland’s City Stages initiative, a new campaign giving talented buskers the chance to perform across the country – and even win the opportunity to support some incredible acts in the 3Olympia and the 3Arena.

Tia supported English singer-songwriter Self Esteem, who played a gig in Dublin on Sunday. And if her Instagram account is anything to go by, she was more than thrilled to take to the stage.

STELLAR caught up with Tia after her gig to find out more about her, her work, and her life by asking her 9 STELLAR Questions.

1. Who would play you in a movie about your life?

I would love to say Lady Gaga, but truthfully Rowan Atkinson.

2. What’s the last song you listened to?

Prioritise Pleasure by Self Esteem. What a powerful song!

3. Who’s the most famous person who follows you on Instagram?

Self Esteem! (Rebecca Lucy Taylor).

4. What’s your ultimate hangover cure?

VITHIT! The pink ones. And a copious amount of chocolate I can only manage to stare at.

5. What’s one thing you’re passionate about right now?

I am really passionate about the new music I am working on.

6. Who’s your dream duet?

Nick Cave, which is already done (kind of!). I had a bit of a Courteney Cox moment.

7. Name 3 people you’d love to have dinner with

I would absolutely love to have dinner with Dolly Parton , she seems like the best fun. I’d also love to have dinner with Aurora and Florence Welch!

8. What’s your favourite album of all time?

It is so hard to choose but Hounds of Love – Kate Bush will always have a special place in my heart.

9. What has your career highlight been so far?

The opportunity to share my original music opening for Self Esteem in the stunning 3Olympia has to be the highlight of my career so far!
