All Of The Irish Artists Nominated For Grammys This Year
No Hozier, though?
The Grammy nominations were announced last week, and we’re thrilled to see Irish talent represented on this year’s list.
While female artists dominate many of the major categories, three Irish acts proudly stand on the international stage.
Fontaines D.C. have garnered two nominations this year: Best Rock Album and Best Alternative Music Performance.
This marks the band’s second year of Grammy nominations; their 2020 nomination for Best Rock Album went to The Strokes.
Originally hailing from Skerries, Dublin, Fontaines D.C. are now on their fourth album, which has certainly proven to be their most successful yet. If you haven’t discovered them, now is the time—many predict they could follow in the footsteps of U2.
It’s been an incredible year for music, and the competition is pretty fierce—but we’re rooting for these guys to take their first Grammy back to Dublin this year!
Fontaines D.C. made their American talk show debut this summer on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with their single ‘Starburster,’ and the music video for their song ‘Bug’ stars none other than Mr Barry Keoghan.

Cork artist Cian Ducrot has been nominated for his first Grammy this year in the Best R&B Song category. Ducrot’s music will move a lot of you to tears.
His pop ballads are gorgeous, and it helps that he’s such a lovely fella. Ducrot is a whizz at social media, and you’re sure to have seen some of his videos online, like the time he brought an undercover choir on the Tube and sang to a whole bunch of surprised passers-by.
This will also be his first year attending the Grammys, so we expect all of Cork to tune in on the night to hopefully watch Cian bring a Grammy home to the Rebel County.

Belfast artist Jordan Adetunji has also received his first Grammy nomination in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category.
This recognition follows the success of his hit single ‘KEHLANI’, which exploded over the summer, gaining massive traction on TikTok. The song was later remixed by none other than American artist Kehlani herself. The viral success of the track led to Jordan signing a record deal with RCA Records.
Jordan had the most heartwarming reaction to the Grammy’s news on Instagram, captioning a post with, “Did this from my bedroom in Belfast with a £100 interface. And my mum always supporting me even when I would record late as ever,” finishing off the Instagram slide with a cute pic of himself and his mam—always have to credit the Irish Mammy, of course.

If you happened to notice a certain Irish artist was missing from the list, you’d be right—Mr. Hozier himself was snubbed this year from any nominations, especially surprising considering the success of his single ‘Too Sweet’ over the summer.
We’re disgusted to say the least, and we’ll be having words with the Grammy Recording Academy on behalf of Ireland ASAP.
