All The Irish Looks At The Governors Awards
The drip!
We couldn’t be more proud to be Irish if we tried!
We have so much incredible talent on this little island.
It seems like you can’t go anywhere without seeing Saoirse Ronan, Paul Mescal or Barry Keoghan somewhere.
… Or perhaps all three together, like at the 2024 Governors Awards on Sunday night.
Yes, the trio attended the event which was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Barry shared a snap of himself with Paul backstage at the event with two shamrock emojis. Barry looked chic in Dolce & Gabbana and Paul looked every inch a Gladiator in Gucci.
Paul and Barry were set to be co-stars in Gladiator II, however, Barry had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts.
He was set to play the role of Emperor Caracalla, but was replaced by The White Lotus star Fred Hechinger.
We haven’t gotten a snap of the three stars together (yet!) but we’re holding out hope.
It’s safe to say that Saoirse Ronan stole the show in a custom look by Louis Vuitton. She walked the red carpet in the blue number with dramatic fringe detailing around the bodice.
The Governors Awards was established in 2009 and many see it as a sign of who will be in contention for an Oscar this year. We’re sure that Paul will be hopeful to follow on in Russell Crowe’s footsteps, who secured his first Academy Award for the 2000 Gladiator.
Saoirse has two films out this year, Blitz and The Outrun which have both received critical acclaim, while Barry’s new powerful film Bird hit cinemas earlier this month.
