Anne Hathaway Has Confirmed A Third Princess Diaries Movie Is In The Works

It’s been over 14 years since The Princess Diaries 2 came out, so it’s only time that we get another one.

There’s been rumours circulating for years that a third movie was in the works, but now we’re hearing it straight from the horses mouth, aka Anne Hathaway.

The Devil Wears Prada actress gave fans an update on the long-rumoured third film during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live earlier this week.

She said:

“There is a script for the third movie.

“I want to do it. Julie [Andrews] wants to do it. Debra Martin Chase, our producer, wants to do it.

“We all really want it to happen. It’s just we don’t want to unless it’s perfect because we love it just as much as you guys love it.

“It’s as important to us as it is to you, and we don’t want to deliver anything until it’s ready, but we’re working on it so…”

The fact that Julie Andrews is up for it is music to our ears. This isn’t the first time she’s expressed interest in taking part, back in 2017 she told Buzzfeed that she would “very willingly and happily” take part in a third instalment of the beloved series.

There’s been no confirmation of release dates or filming schedules, but we’re holding out hope that this will really happen.
