However, the actress recently revealed that she didn’t always think it would be this way, thanks to expectations surrounding women’s careers in Hollywood.
While chatting to PORTER for their latest digital cover story, Anne revealed that as a young girl she was “warned that my career would fall off a cliff at the age of 35, which is something I know a lot of women face.”

However, Anne noted that she thinks this ageist approach to women’s careers is changing.
“The thing that has evolved… is that more women are having careers deeper into their lives, which I think is fantastic,” she shared.
Still, Anne is conscious that we shouldn’t applaud fish for swimming – although things are improving for women in Hollywood, there is still a long way to go.

“Obviously, it doesn’t mean we should have a ticker-tape parade — someone said this to me the other day: ‘There’s so much to be proud of and there’s so much to fix,'” she added.
Anne also shares that she doesn’t feel any different now than she did as a young actress coming up; she’s still got the same desires as she looks to “ultramarathon” her career.
“I’ve always been really upfront about being an ambitious person…I have goals, I have dreams,” she told the publication.

“They don’t look much different than they did when I was [younger], but I’m still pursuing them.”
It seems as though recognising that her life is still getting richer has brought Anne a new feeling of liberation – and we love to see it!
The Devil Wears Prada star continued “I feel like I lived in a space for a really long time where I was so afraid of doing it wrong and so tightly connected to the idea of doing it right.

“It makes not a damn bit of difference if you do it right or wrong. The point is, are you having a good time? Do you feel like yourself? And is it working with you?”
Hell yeah, Anne! We adore this attitude, and we’re sure she’ll be rocking it for many more years to come.
