Ariana Grande has been speaking her mind when it comes to people impersonating her, particularly on TikTok. And let’s just say she’s non too plussed.
It all started when Ariana shared some videos from filmmaker Jordan Firstman doing “impressions.”
In one of Jordan’s videos, he criticises people who make memes, saying, “What if we, like, we took a moment, like a small clip from a movie or a TV show. Something that like, an artist really poured their soul into, and it like, it just took them years to make”
Continuing his ramble he said: “What if we took a moment from that, and we kind of like, recontextualized it—like, does that make sense? And we put a completely arbitrary meaning onto that thing that the artist loves so much? Kind of like, degrading its entire value.”
It seems that Ariana was in total agreement with Jordan, posted Jordan’s ‘this is my impression of a meme’ video on her story, and writing alongside it:
“omg can this please also double as your impression of the ponytail TikTok girls who think doing that Cat Valentine voice and that wearing winged eyeliner and a sweatshirt is doing a good impersonation of me…cause this really how it feels…”
Before adding at the end, “‘Degrading its entire value’ I screamed.”
She ended up deleting the post from her story, but we get the impression now (pun intended), that Ariana is not a fan of people impersonating her at all, at all.

This also comes after Ariana replied to a Tweet posting a TikTok video last year, saying “i just wonder whyyyy the cat voice / dialogue. 😭 i am sure she is the sweetest sweet sweetheart forreal !! but it’s definitley bizarre seeing people blend the two worlds lmao.”
Well, we’d better reconsider our Ari costume for this Halloween then so.
