Britney Spears’ family have taken to social media to share some positive news about eight-year-old Maddie Aldridge.

Maddie, who is daughter to Britney’s 25-year-old sister Jamie-Lynn, was rushed to hospital on Sunday afternoon, February 5th, after the ATV she was driving crashed on the Spears family property in Louisiana.

According to a new statement to People magazine, the youngster “regained consciousness” yesterday, Tuesday February 7th, and is now talking and “aware” of her surroundings.

Thankfully it appears that Maddie “has not suffered any neurological consequences from the accident”.

Maddie’s stepfather, Jamie-Lynn’s partner Jamie Watson, took to Instagram last night to thank followers for their support. “Maddie is doing better and better. Thank y’all so much,” he wrote alongside an image showing the words “Believe In Miracles.”

Thank you to everyone for the prayers. Maddie is doing better and better. Thank y’all so much.

The young girl ended up submerged under water and trapped by her ATV’s seatbelt when she swerved to avoid a drainage ditch around 3pm on Sunday afternoon. Paramedics were on the scene within minutes.

It’s thought Maddie received the vehicle as a gift last year, and photos on Jamie’s Instagram show her at the wheel as far back as November 2016. Warnings in the ATV’s instruction manual specify that the vehicle should not be operated by anyone under the age of ten.
