Cork novelist Louise O’Neill has revealed the exciting news that her popular novel ‘After The Silence’ is set for on-screen adaption.
If you haven’t read it yet, The thriller revolves around the story of the mysterious death of a young woman, Nessa Crowley as a TV crew attempts to uncover the truth of her death 10 years later.
The production team set to turn Louise’s story into a TV series is the same team behind the hugely popular Peaky Blinders. Announcing the exciting news on her Twitter, Louise said:

“I can’t wait to see what they do with this adaption!” she added.
Speaking to Bookseller about her news, Louise said she always felt that the novel would be perfect for the TV.
“While writing After the Silence, I often thought how cinematic it was – the bleak beauty of a windswept island off the Irish coast, the structuring of the novel around a true crime documentary, and a complex, complicated female character at its heart.”
“I’m delighted that Muirinn Lane Kelly, Lucy Bedford and Tiger Aspect Productions feel the same.”
