A Look Inside Selena Gomez’s 28th Birthday Party

Happy birthday queen SG.

The former Disney star turned 28 earlier this week and to celebrate she opted for a less is more approach, having a couple friends over for a low-key sesh.

Our kind of woman.

Wearing a stunning gold dress for the event, Selena shared some instant photos from the day, a day late, explaining that in order to celebrate right, she went off the grid for the whole day, leaving her phone off.

In what looks like a beautiful back yard affair, Selena posed next to balloons that said “Happy Birthday Selena”, ate some cake on the ground and celebrated in private.

“Just wanted to say thank you for every single message- I feel so much love from y’all. I love you guys so much and here’s to 28,” the Rare Beauty entrepreneur wrote on Instagram.

And although we don’t know who was with her to celebrate the big day, we do know that BFF Courtney Lopez was there for the occasion. Sharing a photo of Selena, also a date late, Courtney wrote:

“Was too busy celebrating yesterday that I forgot to post. I’ll leave all the mushy stuff in the card but love you forever…”

Speaking about her lack of presence on social media back in 2017, Selena told Vogue that becoming the most followed person on the app basically halted her use of it.

Between the external pressures to perform well on the app as well as battling her own health issues, Selena said she became less active online.

“I was an addict, and it felt like I was seeing things I didn’t want to see, like it was putting things in my head that I didn’t want to care about. I always end up feeling like sh*t when I look at Instagram. Which is why I’m kind of under the radar, ghosting it a bit.”

Well, regardless, we’re just glad to see she’s having a ball and enjoying her birthday. HB SG.
