Cardi B Is Absolutely SLAYING The Fashion Scene
She hasn't just been leaving her stamp on the music scene.
What’s the best thing about the award season’s red carpets? Cardi B – obviously.
Rapper Cardi B is coming up hot on the music scene as of late, with her hit single (and absolute banger) Bodak Yellow being nominated for both Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song at last night’s Grammy Awards.
However, now fans are starting to anticipate more than just her next song, but also what she’ll wear to the next big event.
Since New York Fashion Week back in September, Cardi B has been serving us some killer looks, be it in the front row or on the red carpet. Whether she’s sporting runners and her booty shorts or a floor-length ball gown, the rap queen has shown us that she can pull off almost anything, literally.
Cardi has made it clear that her intention is to set trends, not follow them, once telling Vogue “I want to wear me. I want to wear something where people go, ‘Why is this bitch wearing a rectangle? Why does she have on a bra made of weed?’”
She has shown that she is a serious contributor to the A-list fashion game, turning heads since her fairytale moment at Rihanna’s Diamond Ball last year in a pale green Christian Siriano gown.
It’s no surprise that we were all anticipating what Cardi would show up to the Grammy’s in, and she absolutely did not disappoint.
The artist wore a dress custom designed for her by Ashi Studio. The white-lace gown had a high to low hem and featured a voluminous skirt.

She paired the dress with her signature Christian Louboutin red-bottoms and her 8-carat engagement ring.

Some stars chose to wear white roses on the red carpet in support of the Time’s Up movement. Cardi’s stylist, Kollin Carter told The Hollywood Reporter that Cardi wanted to support the movement, therefore they dressed her in white. “With Time’s Up going on, I wanted to be sure that we kept everything super-fun (because Cardi’s fun and goofy and she likes to play around) but remained timeless, classic and elegant,” said Carter.
“I can say that the new memo has been on my side because it’s everything that I wanted to do anyway, as far as the black and looking sophisticated. I feel like we have been heading in that direction. It is also standing for something through fashion, which is so powerful to me. She will look like a butterfly on the red carpet, like she has wings. Let’s just say that by the end of the carpet, she’ll be America’s angel.”
Are you as into the star’s style as we are??
