Hailey Bieber Opens Up About Having A Stroke And The Aftermath In Candid Video

She took to YouTube to tell her story.

In a YouTube video, Hailey Bieber opens up about the stroke she suffered from in March this year. This is the first time the model has properly spoken about the reason she was hospitalised and how the aftermath was dealt with by doctors. The stroke led to Hailey having to be operated on in order to close a hole that had appeared in her heart and is apparently having a steady recovery. 

During the video, Hailey describes how it felt once the stroke began, saying “I felt this really weird sensation that travelled down my arm from my shoulder all the way down to my fingertips” She said her husband, Justin Bieber, asked her if she was okay when the sensation began and she was unable to respond and was extremely confused because she wasn’t sure if she was actually okay. She described it as the scariest moment of her life. 

She recalls a funny moment once she arrived in the hospital when they were bringing her in. She heard a medic say “We have a 30-year-old female” and she remembers saying “I’m 25” almost offended they were trying to age her five years. Thankfully, by the time Hailey got to the hospital she said she was practically back to normal. 

Hailey was then diagnosed by doctors with having a small blood clot in her brain that leads to what is commonly known as a ‘ministroke’. Once her body recovered and was kept overnight in the hospital she was informed that she would have no permanent issues. Once they discharged Hailey from the hospital they were able to begin diving into what could have caused the ministroke. She was given a few options about what the problem could have been, one of which being that “I had just recently started birth control pills, which I should’ve never been on because I am someone who suffers from migraines anyway, and I just did not talk to my doctor about this, so, ladies, if you suffer from bad migraines, and you plan on being on birth control pills, make sure you tell your doctor, because having a stroke is a potential side effect from birth control pills.”

Let’s take this as advice to always check with your doctor before starting new medication. All we can say is that we are wishing Hailey a steady recovery and are glad she’s okay!
