Their time in the villa was short and sweet and it looks as though their relationship was too.

Giving their first TV interview since leaving the villa, Mary and Aaron alongside their fellow recently dumped Islanders Brett and Priya, as well as Liberty and Jake joined host Laura Whitmore in Mallorca.

Usually, Aftersun takes place at the ITV studios in London, but since the Love Island final is tomorrow and Laura is needed in Mallorca, the dumped Islanders didn’t catch a plane home yet, staying put to come on the chat show and talk about their time in the villa.

Discussing what the future looks like for them as an item, Mary and Aaron seemed pretty coy about what’s to come, with Mary adding that for now, the pair are just going to go home.

Adding that she’s happy to have made such a good friend in Aaron, it looks as though distance and the little time spent together could be the reason why the Islanders are deciding to go their separate ways despite their strong connection in the villa.

“I think we’re just gonna go home, when we’re back in the real world again and things are more normal we’re going to see how it goes, but I have definitely made a best friend in here,” explained Mary.

During his exit interview Aaron also spoke about his “whirlwind experience,” adding that he wouldn’t change it for the world and always knew his head was “firmly fixed” on Mary.

Acknowledging that it’s still very “early days” and that the outside world is waiting, it looks as though Mary and Aaron might be leaving Mallorca as friends, similar to Lucinda and Aaron who said their goodbyes at the airport when they landed back in London.

All will be revealed in a matter of weeks, we suppose. Either way, we’re excited to follow these two and all they’ll do next.
