Here’s 10-Year-Old Saoirse Ronan Starring In An Ad For The Community Games

Three-time Oscar nominee and pride of Ireland Saoirse Ronan is currently preparing for the Oscars on Sunday, where she could bag her first statuette.

We all know that Saoirse has been acting since she was a tot, making her TV debut at nine years of age in The Clinic on RTÉ.

But did we know that a year later she starred in an ad for that venerable Irish institution, the Community Games? Sponsors Aldi resurrected the clip ahead of the Oscars:

The Community Games is very proud of its association with the Golden Globe winner – a section of their website is dedicated to Saoirse waxing lyrical about the Games.

Community Games taught me how important it was to simply have fun and support your fellow teammates which was a great lesson to learn at such an early age. To take part was always exciting and it’s a time in my life I think of fondly.
