Is Ariana Grande Dating Her Wicked Co-Star Ethan Slater?

Are the rumours true?

Ariana Grande has been filming for an upcoming movie, and rumour has it that there’s some romance happening behind the scenes!

The Save Your Tears singer is playing Glinda the Good Witch, in the movie adaptation of the iconic musical Wicked.

Allegedly, she’s started dating her co-star Ethan Slater, who plays the character of Boq. Ethan is best known for his role as SpongeBob in the SpongeBob SquarePants musical.

Ethan married his high school sweetheart Lilly Jay in 2018, and the pair had a baby boy in 2022. However, a source told People that “[Ariana] and Ethan recently began dating, and he is separated from his wife.”

The reported romance comes following news that Ariana has separated from husband Dalton Gomez, who she was married to for two years.

 

So far there’s no proof in the pudding, and we’ll have to wait for Ariana or Ethan to confirm the speculation. It’s clear Ariana’s getting on great with her fellow cast members though!

The R.E.M beauty founder was spotted at Wimbledon enjoying the company of Bridgerton’s Johnathan Bailey, who will play Prince Fiyero. She’s also posted snaps on her Instagram of her hanging out and rehearsing with Cynthia Erivo, who plays the Wicked Witch, Elphaba.

The movie is set to be released November 26th, 2025, after being put on hold due to SAG-AFTRA strikes.

We can’t wait to see Ari on the big screen!
